Description: The BrahMos-2 is a follow-on hypersonic cruise missile derived from the BrahMos anti-ship missile. The Russian-Indian intergovernmental commission on military-technical cooperation agreed on its development on September 29, 2008. The new missile will feature a top speed of over Mach 5 or Mach 7, compared to Mach 2.8 on BrahMos, which will make unstoppable by any existing or projected air defense system. The BrahMos-2 hypersonic missile would be designed to kill AEGIS and its European counterparts including future enhanced versions.
