Description: The DF-100 is an hypersonic ground-based cruise missile developed by China to hit both land and sea targets from distances far above 1,000 kilometers. Early reports suggested that the new unnamed missile was supersonic with an estimated range of 1,000 kilometers, but following the October 1, 2019, military parade in Beijing the new missile system emerged being hypersonic with an estimated range between 2,000 and 3,000 kilometers. The DF-100 missile system consists of a 10x10 Tractor-Erector-Launcher (TEL) truck system carrying two missiles with what appears to be a light armored cab. The missile itself might carry a 300-500 kilogram conventional high explosive (HE) warhead and its primary goal could be aircraft carriers, amphibious assault ships or large warships along with land-based facilities. The missile is expected to reach a top speed of March 4 or Mach 5 within the hypersonic range.
