Description: The US Air Force (USAF) Ground-Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) is a program at replacing the aging arsenal of Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM). The GBSD program keys are adaptability and flexibility to deal with changing technology and threat environments. In July 2016, the USAF released a statement calling for biddings from defense firms to develop the new weapon system. The GBSD ballistic missile may enter service by 2025 with the aim to stay operational through 2075.
