Description: The HyperSonic Technology Demonstration Vehicle (HSTDV) is a new program being managed by India's Defense, Research and Development Organization (DRDO) to deliver an hypersonic cruise missile. The HSTDV is the counterpart to the United States NASA X-43 demonstrator. The HSTDV is expected to fly at airspeeds of up to Mach 6.5 released from aircraft. The new demonstrator existence was made public in May 2014.
