Description: The K-5 is a submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) being designed as a replacement for the K-4 missile in the near future after its deployment aboard Arihant-class of ballistic submarines which is slated to begin in 2020. The K-5 will offer a maximum range of 5,000 kilometers to engage targets deep inland. As of May 2018, the K-5 ballistic missile was at the early stages of development.
