Description: KS-1 is a subsonic, anti-ship cruise missile capable of carrying a conventional warhead at ranges of up to 180 kilometers from the launch location. The United States of America and NATO referred to this weapon as the AS-1 Kennel for the air launched version and as the SSC-2A/B Salish/Samlet for the variants launched from vehicles on the ground for coastal defense. The ground launched variants derived from the air launch model. This missile was integrated onto the Tu-16 Badger medium bomber which was able to carry as many as two KS-1s.
