Description: The Kh-25, AS-10 Karen NATO designation, is a tactical, supersonic, guided missile family intended for use on the Mig-27, Su-24 and Su-17/22 tactical attack aircraft. Developed in the 1970s, externally it is similar to the Kh-23M missile. Overall, Kh-25 family of missiles is from a certain point of view the Soviet counterpart to French Air Force's AS-30L supersonic air-to-ground missile. Kh-25 missile flexibility has allowed integration onto Russian Air Force's Ka-50 Hokum attack helicopter. They are fitted with either a high explosive or piercing warhead.

The Kh-25MSE features improved propulsion system, longer body fuselage, increased speed, improved guidance system and increased maximum launch altitude up to 12,000 meters compared to 5,000 meters on basic Kh-25 versions. It has been designed to hit a wide range of surface and ground small targets released from both fixed and rotary wing aircraft under adverse weather and day/night conditions at ranges up to 40 kilometers. These targets must remain stationary or near stationery because Kh-25MSE is a fire and forget weapon. Its guidance system combines the inertial navigation system with GLONASS satellite positioning system (counterpart to US GPS) as well as differential correction signals coming from coastal stations.
