Description: The Tactical Missiles Corporation (KTRV) Kh-38ME is a modular, air-launched supersonic missile family designed to hit a wide range of armored and hardened ground targets, groups of targets as well as surface targets in littoral areas. These missiles are provided with a variety of guidance systems and warheads but sharing the same two-phase solid-propellant motor allowing a top speed of more than twice the speed of sound (Mach 2). The maximum range of the Kh-38ME missile system is 40 kilometers released from high altitude and carrying a 250 kg modular warhead with contact fuze. These missiles are available for both fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft. The Russian Air Force will deploy this new tactical missile onboard its fighter aircraft and attack helicopters such as the Su-30SM, Su-34, Su-35, Mig-29SMT, Mig-35, T-50 PAK FA and Ka-52. The Russian Air Force introduced the Kh-38ME missile system into active duty in the 2010-2012 timeframe.

The Kh-38MAE fire-and-forget standoff weapon variant features an active radar seeker combined with automatic inertial navigation along with either a High Explosive (HE) fragmentation or penetrating warhead. The Kh-38MAE missile is optimized to engage surface ships not protected by area air defense systems. The missile can be released from an altitude of 200 to 12,000 meters and an airspeed between 15 and 450 meters per second. After launch the missile can turn up to +/- 80-degree (right/left) in the horizontal plane to engage its intended target with a hit probability between 60 to 80 percent.
