Description: The Koussar is a new ballistic missile using several stages to achieve a maximum range of 4,000 to 5,000 kilometers. The missile replaces outdate ballistic technology used on older Iranian missile systems such as Shahab-3 by sophisticated missile technology. The Koussar will give Iran the capability to hit targets in Europe. As of early March 2009 the missile system was still in early stages of development with no test flight carried out yet.
