Description: The Marte Mk2/S-A is a further variant of Marte Mk2 family derived from the Marte Mk2/S fire and forget helicopter-launched anti-ship missile. The Mk2/S-A is targeted at the light combat aircraft segment represented by the Aermacchi's M-346 advanced jet trainer replacing the Marte Mk1/A missile. The Mk2/S-A variant features all-weather, littoral and blue water and fire-and-forget capabilities. The high subsonic speed missile, which carries out terminal attack maneuvers to defeat enemy air defenses, is also capable of striking time-critical targets as well. The Marte Mk2/S-A and Marte ER variants were announced in June 2009 at the Paris air show.
