Description: R-16 was a silo-based, two-stage, liquid propellant, Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) with a maximum range between 10,500 to 13,000 km carrying a 6-megaton warhead. The western countries referred to this weapon as the SS-7 Saddler. R-16 missiles were withdrawn from active service in the Soviet Union by the middle 1970s.
