Description: The RBS15 is a long range, sea-skimming, fire and forget, anti-ship missile for use from aircraft, ships and ground vehicles. It features a tactical flexibility trajectory with a large number of waypoints and altitudes to hide the launching location increasing the survivability of the launching platform. It is suitable for blue sea operations and littoral warfare. The missile has two lateral boosters for extended range, without the booster the RBS15 only weighs 630 kg. The RBS15 guidance system consists of a GPS/INS and radar altimeter navigation system and a terminal phase active radar seeker. The RBS15 missiles are countermeasures resistant and several of them can be programmed to reach the target area simultaneously from different directions to better penetrate the ship's air defenses.

The RBS15 Next-Generation, now RBS15 Gungnir for surface ship launched variants or RBS15 Mk4 for air-launched variants, is an upgraded version of the RBS15 anti-ship missile featuring improved combat range, an upgraded target seeker, and a lower mass compared to the earlier system. The RBS15 Next-Generation missile also has an ability to combat a wide spectrum of naval and land-based targets, an all-weather capability and a new design enabling future growth potential. The Swedish Armed Forces plans call for the deployment of the new missile on the Gripen E jet and the Visby class corvettes. The Next-Generation anti-ship missile development contract was awarded to Saab on March 31, 2017.
