Description: The Selective Precision Effects At Range (SPEAR) is an air-to-ground missile family intended to equip the United Kingdom (UK) Royal Air Force (RAF) fighter aircraft and helicopters. It features a 50 kg warhead and is being developed in two capabilities: Capability 2 or Block 1 is aimed at existing aircraft such as Tornado Gr4 and Harrier and Capability 3 is intended to equip the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF). MBDA is the prime contractor for SPEAR which was moving into demonstration and manufacturing phase as of March 2010. Subsequently the program was cancelled.
