Description: The Soumar is a surface-to-surface, subsonic, long-range, land attack missile developed under the Islamic Republic of Iran's domestic weapons program started in 1992 as a response to the United States arms embargo. The Soumar missile features an advanced navigation system and modern technologies applied to the propulsion system and the missile's airframe. The missile is intended to hit a wide variety of ground-based targets at ranges of up to 2,500 kilometers. The missile features a booster to increase its range. Radar-evading properties make the missile more survivable on the battlefield. The Soumar land attack cruise missile was unveiled on March 8, 2015.
