Description: The XASM-3 ER is an extended range version of the XASM-3 anti-ship missile intended to engage surface ships and inshore targets from standoff ranges outside the enemy air defenses. The new missile is expected to feature a maximum range of roughly 400 kilometers while being capable of Mach. The Japan Self-Defense Force (JSDF) is expected to deploy the new cruise missile by 2024 with its development starting in 2019.
