Description: The Aerion AS2 is a supersonic business jet being developed in partnership between Aerion Corporation and Lockheed Martin. Airbus is also involved in the development of this new supersonic civil aircraft as well as General Electric (GE) Aviation which will provide the engines. The aircraft will carry 12 passengers over a distance of 10,000 kilometers while cruising at Mach 1.4 (1,600 kph). Aerion AS2 design is expected to be complete by 2020 with the supersonic civilian aircraft entering into service in the 2020s.
