Description: Bell 205/UH-1 Iroquois, also known as the Huey, is a light utility helicopter suitable for a variety of missions and available for both military and civil customers. Originally the UH-1 program was developed to meet the US Army requirements. Subsequently the US Navy and Marine Corps ordered this aircraft. UH-1 can conduct missions such as medical evacuation, command and control, vertical assault, personnel and equipment transport, gunship, etc. It was widely used in the Vietnam war with more than 5,000 units deployed to the theater of operations in Southeast Asia.

Typically Bell 205/UH-1 family of helicopters are powered by one T53 turboshaft engine. UH-1N is a twin-engine variant of UH-1 used by the US Marine Corps for command and control, medical evacuation, resupply, liaison and troop transport duties. UH-1N is powered by two Pratt & Whitney T400 engines rated at 1,250-shp each. TH-1H is one of the latest developments based on the UH-1 aircraft and will serve as a training helicopter for the US Air Force which plans to procure as many as 24 such aircraft.

Bell 210 is derived from the US Army UH-1H airframe with brand new manufactured parts delivering higher levels of reliability, cost effectiveness and flexibility. Bell 210 also includes dynamic components from the Bell 212 helicopter such as main rotor hub and blades, tail rotor, main and tail rotor support structure, transmission, rotating controls, and tail boom. Its maiden flight occurred in December 2004 with FAA certification in July 2005. It is powered by a Honeywell T-53-517B turboshaft engine.

Bell 210 is being offered for the US Army's Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) requirement and for non-combatant organizations in the United States. Using extensively Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) components and UH-1H airframe Bell 210 acquisition cost would be approximately $3 million and $650 per flight hour.
