Description: The Honda Jet was developed by Honda Aircraft Company of Japan as an experimental aircraft intended to validate a new small business jet concept with seat capacity ranging from four to eight passengers. In 2006 the Honda Jet advanced light jet evolved into a commercial aircraft capable of accommodating a crew of one or two with four to five passengers. The Honda Jet's propulsion system includes two GE Honda Aero Engines HF120 turbofans each rated at 2,050lb at takeoff. The HF118 engine was used to power the Honda Jet prototype. The first production HondaJet is expected to enter service in 2010.

The HondaJet introduces over-the-wing engine mount to reduce the drag compared to jets with the engines mounted on the rear-fuselage. In addition to the engine mount, the aerodynamic design provides natural-laminar flow (NLF) which also reduces the drag. The production HondaJet will feature an all-composite fuselage which translates into a lighter aircraft, larger interior cabin and fuel savings.
