Description: The Pilatus PC-12 is a small, single-engine, passenger turboprop aircraft intended to fulfill commuter, executive and freight transport missions as well as for police and military special missions. Pilatus Aircraft performed the maiden flight of the PC-12 prototype on May 31, 1991. Type certification was awarded in 1994 with first customer deliveries following soon after. Including a single pilot, the Pilatus PC-12 can transport up to nine passengers in its commuter variant or six in its executive variant. As of 2007, Pilatus Aircraft had delivered more than 700 PC-12s.

The Pilatus PC-12 aircraft is powered by a single Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-67P engine rated at 1,200-shp, early models were powered by PT6A-67B turboprop. The engine drives a four-blade Hartzell propeller. The PC-12 features a landing gear designed for grass and unprepared airfields; enclosed lavatory (executive version); winglets for fuel economy; Honeywell Primus Apex avionics; and a large cargo door available for the freight variant.

In October 2006, Pilatus Aircraft announced its next generation PC-12 (PC-12 NG) that will featuring a fully integrated Honeywell Primus Apex avionics system; a new cockpit designed by BMW Group Designworks USA; a more powerful Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A engine; dual-zone Environmental Control System for increased cockpit and cabin comfort; a fully automatic digital Cabin Pressurization Control System which requires no input from the pilot; and a fully redundant Power Generation and Distribution System. Type certification award is expected in early 2008.
