Description: The Krasnopol is a 152mm artillery projectile designed to engage armored targets using a semi-active laser guidance system in the terminal phase of its trajectory. Fortifications, ships and enemy artillery sites can be engaged accurately and effectively by the Krasnopol projectile.

Once fired, the Krasnopol projectile follows a ballistic trajectory approaching to the target. Then the forward observer aims a laser designator illuminating the target at a maximum range of 7,000 meters. Then the Krasnopol seeker locks on the target and the navigation system corrects its trajectory in order to impact on the selected/illuminated point. The Krasnopol projectile follows a top attack pattern to achieve an optimized probability of kill against the armored target.

The Krasnopol-M 155mm artillery projectile is a derivative of 152mm Krasnopol artillery projectile has been designed to be employed by western artillery systems such as the M109, G5, G6 and Russian MSTA-SE-155.
