Description:
Pelican is a long range, modular, high precision 155mm projectile for both land and naval artillery. It is being designed to achieve targets with a 10 meters CEP accuracy.
The Pelican projectile has been designed be fired by all NATO standard 155mm guns. Its payload will comprise 3 BONUS anti-tank sensor-fuzed munitions, 63 double effects grenades, and unitary warhead according to the mission profile.
The high accuracy of this weapon is achieved through the use of a GPS/INS guidance system and canards for flight control.
Pelican LR (Long Range) is being designed to engage targets at maximum range of 60 km and will be available for existing and future 39 and 52-caliber 155mm howitzers. Fired from a 39-caliber gun the Pelican range is 50 km and from 52-caliber 60 km. Pelican LR will use Base-Bleed and horizontal flight to achieve its extended range.
The Pelican projectile will be available for naval artillery supporting littoral warfare as well as field artillery.
