Description: The Alyulka AL-41F1 is a 20,000-lb class engine developed to power the Russian Air Force fifth generation aircraft known as the PAK FA T-50. Using the afterburner the engine develops up to 33,000 pounds of thrust. It features Thrust Vectoring Control (TVC), advanced materials, optimized radar cross section and infrared (IR) signatures for stealth as well as Fully Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC). The Russian Air Force plans call for the PAK FA to be powered by the AL-41F1 engine until 2020 when an entirely new generation engine should be available boosting the aircraft's range, ceiling and overall performance.
The AL-41F1S, also known as Izdeliye 117S, is a transitional engine for the Su-35 providing features from fifth generation fighters such as supercruise speed and minimized infrared and radar signatures. The new engine is a derivative of the initial powerplant developed for the T-50 stealth aircraft. The AL-41F1S engine will be manufactured by the United Engine Corporation (ODK) and was unveiled at the Paris Air Show in June 2015.
