Description: The Turbomeca Arrano is a 1,100-shp turboshaft engine developed to power twin-engine four-to-six ton helicopters or single-engine helicopters close to three tons. The Arrano fits between Arriel and Ardiden engines also developed by Turbomeca. It features 10 to 15 percent reduction in specific fuel consumption compared with existing engines which translates in more range and payload. Besides, the ownership cost will be reduced through optimized maintenance concept aimed at decreasing on-site servicing. The Arrano, also known as the TM800, was launched at Heli-Expo in March 2013. The first test-run was carried out in February 2014. In February 2015 Airbus Helicopters selected the Arrano 1A engine to power the X4 5-to-6 ton helicopter.
