Description: The Arrius is a family of turboshaft engines introduced in 1981 to power a wide range of rotary-wing single and twin-engine aircraft. More than 2,700 engines have been produced by Turbomeca (Safran Group) for 430 customers in 60 countries as of early 2011. These engines have logged more than 5 million flight hours so far. This engine family features extreme simplicity design and mainly consists of five basic variants: Arrius 1A/1M, Arrius 2F, Arrius 2B1/2B2, Arrius 2K1/2K2 and Arrius 2G/2G1. Only the Arrius 2F/G/B/K variants remain in production today. Their maximum power at take-off ranges from 479-shp to 730-shp.
The Arrius 2F engine was developed to power Eurocopter's EC 120 B Colibri single-engine helicopter. The turboshaft engine builds on centrifugal compressor and power turbine design common to the Arrius engine family. The highly reliable Arrius 2F turboshaft engine is governed by hydromechanical fuel control unit.
