Description: The Ivchenko-Progress D-27 is a turboprop engine originally designed to power high fuel-efficient passenger and transport aircraft providing improved takeoff and landing characteristics. To date, the D-27 turboprop has been selected to power the Antonov An-70 tactical military transport aircraft. The engine is the key for the An-70 turboprop aircraft short takeoff and landing characteristics as well as the high cruising speed. The three-shaft D-27 engine rated at 14,000-shp of power at takeoff drives the SV-27 two-row, coaxial, counter-rotating, high efficiency propfan with 8+6 scimitar shaped blades. SV-27 propfan is provided by SPE Aerosila.
