Description: The F414-GE-400 engine incorporates advanced technology with the proven design base of the F404 engine. Two F414 engines power the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet aircraft. The F414 engine is more powerful, durable, reliable and easy to maintain than F404 family engines. The F414 engine also works with higher temperatures and pressures due to the use of new materials and cooling techniques.
