Description: The Turbomeca Makila is a turboshaft family designed to power medium-size twin-engine helicopters such as Super Puma, Cougar, EC725, EC225 and Rooivalk.The engine rated at 1,700-shp to 2,400-shp has been designed based on five modules for a better maintainability with a time between overhaul (TBO) of 3,000 hours. More than 2,200 Makilas have been produced for 90 operators in 50 countries logging more than 8 million flight hours.

The Makila 1A and 1A1 engines, rated at 1,820-shp at takeoff, power the Eurocopter's AS332 Super Puma, AS532 and SA330 helicopters available for both civil and military operators.
