Description: The Merlin 1D Vacuum is a further development designed to power the second stage of the Falcon 9 space launch system. It features a larger nozzle for optimal operation in the vacuum of space and a thrust of 210,000-lb. The engine also powers the Falcon Heavy space launch system and allows to re-use the second stage by throttling down to 81,000-lb of thrust to land on Earth.
