Description: The TP400-D6 is a 10,000-hp class turboprop being developed by the EPI Europrop International GmbH consortium (Rolls-Royce - UK, Snecma - France, MTU - Germany and ITP - Spain) to power the A400M military transport aircraft. TP400 is expected to become the largest modern turboprop engine in the world. The turboprop is based on a three-shaft configuration.
The TP400-D6 engine certification has been scheduled for October 2007. The maximum power output for this engine was estimated at 11,000 shaft horsepower. More than 750 engines will be required to power 180+ A400Ms.
