Description: The VK-800 is a new family of turboshaft engines developed by Klimov JSC to power families of light rotary-wing and fixed-wing aircraft such as the Ansat, Ka-226, Ka-126 and Mi-54. The VK-800 is a family of modern, reliable and inexpensive engines aimed at powering airplane with a payload between 1,000 and 1,500 kilograms. It develops between 500 and 800 horsepower with minimal operating costs and simplified design for ease of maintenance. The testing of the new engine family started in 2018 as a response to the US sanctions targeting the Russian Aerospace companies. The new engine family is expected to be integrated into the light platforms starting in 2020.
