Description: The AN/ALR-56 radar warning receiver (RWR) is designed to detect incoming radar signals, identify, associate these signals to a known threat and alert the aircraft crew. The F-15A/B is equipped with ALR-56A model. The C-130J tactical transport aircraft is equipped with the ALR-56M system.
ALR-56 advanced variants (-56C and -56M) can be coupled to several countermeasures systems for optimal performance. It can integrated into many aircraft types such as B-52 (-56A and -56C), F-15C/D/E/K/S (-56C), B-1B (-56M), C-130J (-56M) and F-16 (-56M) combat aircraft.
As of July 2005, the ALR-56M has integrated onboard 34 US Air Force C-130Js and 22 Italian Air Force C-130J tactical aircraft. More than 1,000 radar warning sets have been ordered and delivered to the US Armed Forces and International customers.
On 25 July 2005, BAE Systems was awarded a $31 million contract for the procurement of 31 AN/ALR-56M radar warning receiver sets for integration into the US Marine Corps C-130J fleet along with ALR-56M line replaceable units (LRU) in support of the Taiwanese Air Force's F-16 fleet.
