Description: The AN/APR-39E(V)2, formerly known as the Modernized Radar Warning Receiver (MRWR), is a next generation radar warning system intended for use by the US Army. The primary goal of the new warning system is to prevent the new generation of sophisticated and highly mobile anti-aircraft weapon systems to neutralize the carrier platform. The APR-39E(V)2 will provide detection, location and identification with high precision by using a Digital Receiver Exciter (DRE), also employed by the APR-39D(V)2 warner, with innovative signal processing algorithms. The new warning system is expected to be able to see millimeter wave radars at longer ranges. The US Army awarded Northrop Grumman a contract for the development of the AN/APR-39E(V)2 in early March 2019.
