Description: The Akatsia-M is a new-generation mobile command and control system developed by Kontsern Sistemprom for the Russian Armed Forces. The system, which is basically a wireless communications network similar to the internet, underwent field testing in 2008 with first deliveries to Russian military units in 2009. A single system consists of a two-man crew mobile command and control post equipped with an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) system with a flight endurance of 1.5 hours cruising at 120 kph at ranges of up to 15 kilometers. The UAV system provides real-time imagery over the battlefield. The Russian Armed Forces plans call for the Akatsia-M to be fully deployed in all military districts by 2012.
