Description: The Arexis is a new electronic warfare (EW) suite family developed by Saab to provide self-protection for the Gripen E/F fighter aircraft family. The key technologies used by this new EW system are ultra wideband digital receivers, Digital Radio Frequency Memory (DRFM), gallium nitride solid state Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) jammer transmitters and interferometric direction finding systems. The Arexis advanced electronic attack jammer pod can protect a group of aircraft against low frequency radars by the smart utilization of DRFM-based jamming techniques such as smart noise, coherent false targets and various saturation techniques. Low frequency radars are used by anti-stealth air defense systems. The Arexis electronic attack suite was launched at the DSEI exhibition in September 2017. The Electronic Attack Jammer Pod (EAJP) mounted on a Gripen F conducted its first flight on November 4, 2019.
