Description: The US Army Ballistic Low Altitude Drone Engagement (BLADE) is a close range drone neutralization system designed for installation into both tactical vehicles and armored vehicles as well as fixed stationary positions. The BLADE system has been designed to neutralize attacks from swarms of small unnamed air vehicles (UAVs). The system comprises the CROWS remote weapon station with high precision targeting to take out drones at close ranges as well as electronic attack jamming the drone's communications and navigation systems. The system also includes advanced sensors to detect, identify and track the attacking drones. The US Army was testing the BLADE prototype within 2019 with the aim of deploying the system in the early 2020s on M1A2C/D tanks, M2 Bradley and Stryker armored vehicles.
