Description: The ADM-160 MALD, formerly known as the Miniature Decoy, is a family of Miniature Air-Launched Decoy (MALD) designed to protect US fighters and bombers from sophisticated netted air defenses. These decoys are released from both aircraft types and will feature the same Radar Cross Section (RCS) related to fighter- and bomber-sized aircraft. The scope of the MALD program is to deliver decoys that will confuse the enemy by posing as friendly aircraft. The first version developed by Raytheon entered service with the US Air Force in 2008.

The US Navy MALD-N is a sophisticated decoy system featuring network-enabled jamming capabilities to counter the threats expected after 2020. The MALD-N will build upon the MALD-X program and may be available by 2020 or later.
