Description: The French Navy's Nemesis is an advanced torpedo countermeasures system designed for integration on submarines. The system protects the submarine by either jamming the torpedo's sensors or launching decoys until the incoming torpedoes lose contact with their target which can then leave the area safely. The Nemesis has been designed to counter both lightweight and heavyweight torpedoes based on technologies dated back to the 1970s to the present time.

On October 2, 2009, DCNS was awarded a contract by the French Defense Procurement Agency (DGA) for the supply and installation of the Nemesis system on French Navy's nuclear submarine fleet. France's submarine fleet includes four Le Triomphant-class and six Rubis-class boats all powered by nuclear reactors. The Nemesis will replace the Dilsat system onboard 10 submarines.
