Description: The Small Low-cost Interceptor Device (SLID) is an active defensive self-contained system being developed by Boeing to protect military vehicles and high value assets from missiles and artillery rounds. It consists of a small, maneuverable, hit-to-kill interceptor, a high-speed launcher, a passive threat warning sensor and precision fire control system. The SLID can defeat threats, such as anti-tank missiles, tank and mortar rounds, and artillery shells, at ranges of up to 250 meters.

The SLID defense system could be applied to existing vehicles as well as FCS-vehicles currently under development. Eventually, the SLID system could evolve to defeat high performance threats such as supersonic anti-radiation missiles.
