Description: The Self-Protection Integrated Mistral Module (SPIMM) is a single module close-range air defense system derived from the Simbad-RC naval weapon station. The SPIMM has been designed by MBDA to fit into a wide array of ships but especially for those lacking a proper combat system such as auxiliary vessels. It is operated by a crew of two-man located inside the three-meter tall combat module. The new combat module includes two Mistral surface-to-air missiles and a full coverage infrared panoramic camera. Besides, the combat module has four additional missiles in storage to engage fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft, anti-ship missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The 7-ton SPIMM naval weapon station was launched in February 2019.
