Description: The Shtil is a medium range, ship-based, Surface-to-Air Missile (SAM) system designed to engage multiple targets simultaneously. It is a derivative of the proven Buk-M1 air defense system. It can engage supersonic aircraft and anti-ship missiles flying at a maximum speed of Mach 2.5. Up to 12 9M38 missiles can be launched simultaneously employing 8 antenna sets.

The Shtil SAM system uses the information provided by the ship 3D radar system. It has been highly automated to reduce the reaction time in the event of an attack. The 9M38 missile are fired employing a ramp, 24 (1 ramp system) to 96 (4 ramps) 9M38 missiles can be associated to the Shtil system.
