Description:
The Mk 41 is the standard Vertical Launch System employed by the US Navy fighting ships to store and launch a wide spectrum of naval missiles. It is installed below deck on surface ships in 13 different configurations ranging from a single module with 8-cell to 16 modules with 128-cell.
The Mk 41 Tactical Length (Mk 41 TL) is a shortened version of Mk 41 VLS to accommodate missiles with up to 18.5 feet (5.64 meters) in length.
The Mk 41 VLS has been adopted by the navies of Germany, the Netherlands, Japan, Republic of Korea (RoK), Norway, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
