Description: The K9 is a 155mm self-propelled howitzer designed to provide high rates of fire, high mobility and survivability, and rapid shoot and scoot tactics. It is able to fire on a target at 40 km with 3 rounds within 15 seconds and sustained rate of fire of 2 rounds per minute. The K9 features an steel armor for protection which provides protection against land mines, machine gun fire and artillery shells.

The K9 is armed with a 155mm 52 calibers gun enabled to fire conventional, rocket assisted (RAP) and Base-Bleed shells. The South Korean Army is the sole operator of this howitzer procured for the replacement of outdated M109A2 self-propelled howitzers.
