Description: The SH2 is a high mobility, lightweight, air-transportable truck-mounted howitzer developed by NORINCO for the export market and potentially for the People's Liberation Army (PLA). The SH2 is based on a Soviet D-30 gun derivative mounted on a 6x6 chassis. The 122mm gun can fire hollow base charges at ranges of 22 km or rocket-assisted projectiles (RAPs) at 27 km. The artillery system maximum rate of fire is eight rounds per minute and operated by a crew of five the SH2 can be set ready to fire in 50 seconds. The SH2 system weighs more than 11 tons equipped with the gun system and 24 rounds and can travel at top speeds of 90 kph on road.
