The new artillery system will be highly mobile and stealth for improved survivability. According to Bofors Defence sources, the SPA will achieve rates of fire of 16 to 20 rounds per minute, while retaining and increasing FH 77B's multiple round simultaneous impact capability to 10 in just one second. Modular charges will mean a variable muzzle velocity from 450 m/s to more than 1,000 m/s.

Firing standard 155mm ammunition the SPA artillery system will be able to destroy targets at 50 km, while employing special ammunition the maximum range would be up to 100 km.
