Description: The Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) Type 96, also known as Gottohanma, is a 120mm mortar carrier vehicle based on a tracked chassis. It is powered by an eight-cylinder air-cooled two-cycle diesel engine developing 411-hp and allowing a top speed of 50 kph on road. It is equipped with the RT 120 120mm mortar and one M2 12.7mm machine gun for self-defense purpose. The JGSDF deployed the Type 96 self-propelled mortar within field artillery units.
