Description: The US Navy's AN/AQS-24B is a mine hunting system featuring improved image resolution as well as the speed of real-time sonar processing. The Northrop Grumman AQS-24B is intended to detect, classify and localize modern-day mine threats deployed on the MH-53E helicopter and Mine Hunting Unmanned Surface Vessels (MHUs). The new sonar system demonstrated its ability to perform synthetic aperture signals processing at 18 knots at real time in September 2015.
