Description: The Aurora Generation IV is an ultra-lightweight, compact, hyperspectral, wide area surveillance system developed by BAE Systems and capable of detecting and identifying potential targets. It combines daytime hyperspectral imaging technology, featuring high-resolution electro-optic sensors, with an airborne processing system to automatically detect and identify targets. The system is entitled to search for potential targets and download location results to ground stations in real-time. Aurora target detection system can be integrated onto a wide range of low- and medium-altitude manned and unmanned airborne platforms that can accommodate payloads of at least 35 pounds. The US Army has selected the Aurora Generation IV for integration with the Shadow 200 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).
