Description: The Catherine is a family of stabilized thermal imagers developed by Thales and designed to provide long range surveillance and target acquisition, day and night passive operation, and good detection of camouflaged target. The imager features rugged design for military wheeled and track vehicles and is compatible with fire control systems. This advanced sensor is based on the 8-12 micrometers band and is resistant to battlefield obscurants and solar dazzle while delivering digital video.

The Claire is a general purpose mid-wave (MW) (3 - 5 micro-meters) cooled infrared camera part of the Catherine infrared camera family intended for military platforms. The Claire uses a third generation imager with cooled detector array. The Netherlands has selected this sensor for applications on its military armored vehicles such as in the commander sight for the CV9035 and in the remote weapon station for the Boxer. Its line-of-sight accuracy and range performance enable the commander and gunner to realize a high aiming precision and recognition capability. The Claire camera provides two-fields of view combined with micro-scan and excellent detector characteristics.
