Description: The Selex Galileo EOST 45 is a high performance, stabilized passive electro-optical surveillance and tracking system suitable for manned and unmanned fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft. The EOST 45 consists of a day and night thermal imager (Erica) operating in the medium infrared wavelength spectrum 3-5 micrometers, a daylight zoom TV color camera and a long-range color or black and white TV camera (LRTVCC) for target identification. Airborne platforms equipped with this electro-optical sensor can perform all-weather maritime patrol, search and rescue (SAR), coast guard and police operations and land force protection missions.

To date, the Selex Galileo EOST 45 and EOST 45M sensor payloads have been successfully integrated on the Piaggio P166 aircraft, AgustaWestland AW109 Power helicopter, Alenia Aeronautica Falco and Sky-Y Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). The GEOS is a version designed for helicopter installation and provided with a shock absorbing mount.
