Description: The GOES-342 is a rotary wing aircraft-mounted, gyro-stabilized sensor package intended to provide situational awareness to the helicopter's crew through multi-function displays. The GOES-342 sighting system provides laser rangefinder and target designation in all weather conditions day/night. The Russian Armed Forces have deployed this sight system mounted on both transport and attack helicopters. The GOES-342 consists of an infrared sensor operating at 8 to 12 micro-meters, laser rangefinder with a maximum error of 5 meters, daytime/low light TV, Infrared locator or laser beam riding device for missile guidance. The sighting system provides a viewing angles of +/-230 degrees in azimuth and -115/+25 degrees in elevation.
